The Avocet approach has three vital components
We take time to get to know your business, its culture, its key objectives and deliverables; by doing this we can best represent you to potential candidates and also identify which of those candidates will present you with the best “fit”.
We do this by spending time discussing your organisation and asking what priorities within the business the vacant position will be addressing. We then discuss in detail the job description and how it relates to the business priorities. Only then will we ask about the qualifications required for the role.
Most recruiters only ask about qualifications for the role and then, at best, for about 10 minutes and spend no time whatsoever on learning about and understanding your business. All of which leads to the endless cycle of chasing the “wrong” candidates before requesting a further meeting, or even meetings, with you to “fully understand the role”. We don’t waste your time in that way – we discover all this in our initial meeting. Working with Avocet will actually reduce the time it takes you to recruit.
We support Peter Drucker’s view that “my greatest strength as a consultant is to be ignorant and ask a few questions.”
We focus on service, integrity, mutual respect and market expertise and are not driven by price. Quite simply because this will compromise our service levels and we would not be working with pride and we know that someone would always find a way to undercut us. We believe that cost focused recruitment is a quick way to the bottom and that’s not where we want to be.
Instead we concern ourselves with innovation and sustainability; we will not be greedy or selfish, we will treat everyone we engage with respect and integrity.
Tell us about your recruiting challenges and we will provide you with a solution.
Where candidates with the background and experience you seek are scarce, you need your chosen recruitment partner to promote you to potential employees – we can only do this by taking the time to understand the business and where the role fits in.
We also supply both contract and interim personnel. Projects often need a single individual at the helm and current staff may be unable to take up this mantle; when this is the case, an interim manager is an excellent solution, affording you access to focused, relevant skills but without the long term financial commitment.
“I have used many recruitment companies over the years and have always found them to be consistently inconsistent , but since working with Avocet and Keith I have nothing but praise. I have received a consistently high quality of service , been presented with a good standard of candidates that have fitted the brief and always felt that Avocet and Keith have understood what our Service Desk is about and what our values and culture are. I would have no hesitation in engaging his services for future vacancies” Head of Enhanced and International User Support, Business Solutions Organisation
“I have worked with Karyn for three years and she has been hugely instrumental in advising me how to move forward my business. Karyn has an amazing attitude and can truly motivate and bring out the best in people. Her breadth of commercial knowledge is great and her advice is pragmatic, allowing for growth in a measured and sustainable manner. I would definitely recommend speaking with Karyn if you have any problems, ideas or concepts which need clarity of thought and approach. Personable and sympathetic with a genuine ability to empathise, Karyn is the one person you need in your corner!” MD, Marketing & Communications Company
“Keith has an excellent reputation in screening and identifying the best candidates to fill vacancies in leading companies. He can be trusted to deliver on his promises, his integrity is beyond reproach and I have no hesitation in commending him.” European Programme Manager, Global Logistics

We have always valued the insight she has offered regarding our growth and development during her consultation visits. I would highly recommend Karyn and look forward to working with her again.” Development Director, Financial Services IT Support
“I have worked with Keith for 10 years now in a number of organisations. During this time Keith has always provided a professional service. They have taken the time to understand the requirements for the role and then supplied candidates suitable for interview. I would have no hesitation in recommending Keith to provide recruitment services. Thanks Keith and here’s to another 10 years.” EMEA Infrastructure Director, Technology Company
“I have been deeply impressed by your access to Candidates with such a great fit to our requirements. Next time we have a need in this space you can rest assured I’ll be straight on the ‘phone.” Associate Resource Manager, Management Consultancy Group
“In my long experience, of dealing with hundreds of recruitment consultants (mostly as a candidate) I can honestly say that I found Keith to be the best. It’s not often, in the contracting world, for someone to take an interest in, and actively support, a candidate’s personal and professional development: yet Keith achieves this effortlessly. He always takes a great deal of time to ensure that candidates are the right match for a client and actively monitors feedback on both sides to ensure that all parties are happy with the fit, a long time after most consultants stop calling.
Keith has placed me with two clients now; the second where he knew I would improve processes and tools to speed up the project thereby reducing his bottom line from the many other candidates on site. I can therefore attest that Keith’s top priority is quality over quantity and he delivers value to his clients whilst finding the best rates for his many happy candidates. I would, and have, recommended Keith’s personable service to clients and candidates alike, and would not hesitate to collaborate with him again in the future.” Infrastructure Project Manager
